About The FCC Wire
The FCC Wire is a morning email about new FCC equipment filings.
Before a product with a radio can be sold in the United States, it needs FCC authorization: Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, cellular, satellite, any transmitter. The application is a public record, and it often shows the product months before it is announced: the name, photos, the manual, the test reports.
The FCC database is slow and hard to search, and thousands of filings land in it. The Wire checks it every day and sends one email each morning: the new filings, what each one appears to be, and a link to the official record.
The FCC Wire is run by an independent developer in Gunnison, Colorado. It started in September 2026. The daily brief is free. Pro adds a personal watchlist, so you hear sooner, with more detail, when a company or topic you track files.
